Great Northern Beans

I am so excited to harvest my first crop (handful) of Great Northern Beans!

There are more waiting to dry out before I can harvest them.  This being my first year of planting any type of dried bean I did not know what to expect, but when I was checking on the garden last week there were some pods that had changed color and were actually dried out.  So I took one off and sure enough the beans were dry and ready to be picked. I only have one small row planted, I'm hoping to have enough to make one pot of chicken chili.
